Our Purpose

Imagination Education workshops aim to open up a new avenue of expression to ultimately encourage creative thinking, enhance life skills and create a deeper understanding of oneself through the development of artistic skills.

The sessions have a focus on mental health, teaching students how to use creativity to relieve stress and support their overall wellbeing. By strengthening skill sets and teaching creative techniques we encourage children to express their thoughts and feelings through creative writing and illustration. Workshops provide time and a safe space for imagination to be nurtured. I aim to demonstrate the joy and satisfaction of taking time to work on your creative endeavors as both a method of innovation, stress relief and fun.

Exploring our imagination is vital for the development of ourselves as individuals. Creative thinking supports problem solving and resilience which are fundamental skills in almost all career paths and for navigating life in general. Self confidence grows through creative outlets. Imagination Education workshops aim to see each student's ideas come to life in the form of outcomes. We believe that encouraging self belief enables students to gain a deeper understanding of themselves. The better you know yourself, the easier it is to make the right decisions for your life. This is a skill that is broadened through self confidence and the ability to develop your ideas into an end product that is authentically you.

Creativity is one of the most crucial skills for the future of humanity because if there is no creativity there is no innovation. Nurturing the imagination and encouraging the confidence to do so, is vital for progress in ourselves as individuals and for the progress of our society, as most breakthroughs in human history are a mixture of expertise, new ideas, practice and development which all starts with the ability to imagine. Imagination is said to scientifically increase the mentality of human beings which allows us to come up with new solutions to combat some of the global problems humanity faces such as climate change.

In a world where Artificial intelligence (AI) is developing fast, it is vital now more than ever, that we support human creativity. Technology in general has become woven into our everyday lives.  It is often used as a key learning tool, however, the use of AI and technology can restrict our ability to think originally and organically. Therefore creative thinking and manual skills should be nourished alongside progressive technologies in order to maintain the balance between humanity and artificial intelligence.

Imagination Education workshops aim to encourage experimentation and let students make mistakes, try again and see the perfections in the imPERFECTions. The development of a creative hobby involves learning the discipline of 'practice for progress' as students try new techniques which lead to outcomes to be proud of. Students will learn to find new ways to communicate their ideas onto paper. We will also practise collaborations as well as self directed learning with guidance where students can experiment until they find a technique that works for them and are eventually able to unveil their own personal and unique style.

With flexible workshop plans and bespoke creative support for each student, Imagination Education workshops will teach illustration, prose and poetry techniques to grow creativity and creative thinking with an aim to encourage innovation, self-belief and wellbeing. Students will leave the workshop feeling confident in expressing their uniqueness through writing and drawing, with a drive to continue to develop these skills both in and beyond the classroom.

Our workshops are bespoke to your particular students' needs and strengths and we look forward to discussing these with you.

Our workshops support schools in fulfilling the Statutory Guidance from the National curriculum in England

Direct quotes from Statutory guidance in the National curriculum in England:

The national curriculum provides pupils with an introduction to the essential knowledge that they need to be educated citizens. It introduces pupils to the best that has been thought and said; and helps engender an appreciation of human creativity and achievement.

The current national curriculum states that the aims of art and design are to make sure that all pupils:

- produce creative work, exploring their ideas and recording their experiences

- become proficient in drawing, painting, sculpture and other art, craft and design techniques

- evaluate and analyse creative works using the language of art, craft and design

- know about great artists, craft-makers and designers, and understand the historical and cultural development of their art forms

Art, craft and design embody some of the highest forms of human creativity. A high-quality art and design education should engage, inspire and challenge pupils, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to experiment, invent and create their own works of art, craft and design. As pupils progress, they should be able to think critically and develop a more rigorous understanding of art and design. They should also know how art and design both reflect and shape our history, and contribute to the culture, creativity and wealth of our nation.
